O Fortuna

It’s difficult to believe that eighteen years have elapsed since the first pupils attended their first lessons at Ysgol Glanaethwy (Glanaethwy School). Eighteen years of non-stop shows, competitions and concerts, with a string of successes in our national festivals, as well as awards in The Llangollen International Eisteddfod, the Music For Youth Festival in London, Sainsbury’s Choir of the Year, and the Barclays Music Theatre Awards. The school has also travelled extensively to Scotland, Ireland, Switzerland, Italy, Ukraine, Hungary and Bulgaria, again winning awards and gaining supporters over the years. Last year they were awarded Choir of the Festival at The National Eisteddfod in Cardiff, The Stena Choral Festival and The Pan Celtic Festival in Donegal. This is their third CD, and it includes some of the highlights from the series that gave them another feather in their cap over the summer, namely Last Choir Standing. This was a new platform for their talents that brought with it a new fan base. But the CD also includes many familiar favourites for those loyal fans that have supported the choir over the years, and this is an opportunity for us to thank them, one and all, for their time, encouragement and support over such a long period, that yet only seems like yesterday! A heartfelt ‘thank you’ to you all. Youth Choir / **** Junior Choir.
