Y Goreuon Eto

The country duo from the seaside village of Tudweiliog on the Llŷn Peninsula have recently celebrated their first 25 years in the music business, and their story has been published in a book by journalist-musician Tudur Huws Jones. It is therefore fitting for 36 of their most memorable tracks to be released together on this double CD. They include new compositions and Welsh adaptations of country classics, and the duo’s easy-going style, and John’s magnificent voice give them all that special quality which has made “John ac Alun” one of the foremost names in Welsh popular singing for a quarter of a century. And their weekly programme on BBC Radio Cymru on Sunday night is testimony to their lasting appeal, a programme which gets the most requests of any Radio Cymru programme.
