This is the first CD by the artist who is originally from Meirionethshire, singing traditional songs and ‘cerdd dant’. This is the first CD by the artist who is originally from Meirionethshire, then lived for a period in Montgomeryshire, and has now settled in Caernarfonshire! Family influence is obvious on this album. The late Geraint Edwards (uncle) wrote the words for one of the songs, and two of the songs are by Trefor Edwards (uncle), with two of Arfon’s brothers, Dyfan Roberts and Gerallt Rhun joining in another song. While preparing the notes for the cover of the album, Arfon realised that Wil Cae Coch was a sibling to his great great grandmother! On another track, Arfon is joined by the local lads from Powys. Other various Poets such as Mei Mac, Mynyddog, Tudur Dylan, Ceiriog and Gwyn ap Gwilym have contributed to the project. Traditional songs and ‘cerdd dant’, arranged by Arfon himself appear on the album, as well as songs from Brittany, a variation of Eric Bogle’s Green fields of France, and an arrangement by Cass Meurig. Tudur Dylan has also composed a song for the late Elfed Lewys, a very famous character in the Powys area.
