After the success of their debut single last september, the lively band Yr Ods return bigger, better and ready to party with their new single Fel Hyn Am Byth (Like This Forever) for the Copa Label. Containing the two tracks Fel Hyn Am Byth and Ffordd Ti’n Troi Dy Lygaid (The way you turn your eyes), it is a new direction for the band who have added some synths and melodies to their usual guitar sound. A spokesman for the band said;“The new tracks have a synth pop feel is richer compared with previous work, it’s an enormous development in terms of our sound. We haven’t ditched the old guitar vibe, we’ve just added synths and melodies. In addition Rhys Aneurin has joind the band to play the synths in gigs.” Recorded at Aeriel Studios in Brechfa, and produced by Tim Lewis, this single showcases the group’s talent to compose catchy memorable songs which echo the style of Welsh bands of the early 80s mixed with modern psychedelic rock. The producer and musician Dyl Mei said; Yr Ods are masters of mixing elements of indie guitar with modern pop creating catchy and infectious songs. I’m looking forward to hearing more by this band that thrives and flurishes during their live performances. Since the release of their first single the band have been gigging regularly and already have plans to release an album; “I don’t think people are quite ready for an album yet, but they might be by the summer,” they added.
