Following a remarkable session for C2 back in 2003, Daniel Lloyd is back with his long awaited debut album Goleuadau Llundain, which will be released by RASAL on July 18th, 2005. When Daniel Lloyd from Rhosllennerchrugog near Wrexham, began writing songs in his mid-teens, he had no idead that Elis and Mei, two brothers from Llanystumdwy were already forming a band by the name of Mr Pinc. After meeting at university and winning a competition in the iner-college Eisteddfod Elis and Daniel formed a band to record the session for C2. Daniel has already played numerous gigs around his hometown, and as they talked about their plans for the future it was decided to revive Mr Pinc. As Mr Pinc reformed, there had to be personnel change. Elis was already a drummer and Mei his brother a bassist. They recruited another university friend Aled ‘Cae Defaid’ Morgan the talented guitarist from Llan Ffestiniog and Dan also phoned a friend in Gareth Coleman to play keyboards. The band began rehearing like maniacs before recording the session for C2 that brought their light, melodic rock to the masses. After performing a few gigs, Dan moved to London to study in the East 15 Acting School. The fact that he was away from home boosted his creativity and drove him to write many songs about his new and old home. During this time he wrote many tracks that appear on the album including opening track GOLEUADAU LLUNDAIN (London Lights) that also became the title of the album. Toward the end of 2004 the band went in to Sylem Studio in Betws Y Coed working with Geraint Jones as producer to begin recording the album. Their light meoldic rock and driving guitar riffs are an essential part of Dan Lloyd and Mr Pinc’s appeal. The ablum kicks-off with title track GOLEUADAU LLUNDAIN, a dark picture of England’s capital city as Dan re-lives his time there. HANES ELDON TERRACE re-lives a happier period when a few of the band members shared a house in Eldon Terrace, Bangor. While TAn YN TY NAIN is a darker song reminiscing about the time a fire ripped through the house of friends of the band. Goleuadau Llundain comprises of a mix of ballads and up-tempo light rock, full of melocid riffs and memorable choruses. The band have now began giging seriously and will be appearing up and down the country in the coming months, at the National Eisteddfod as well as Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau, where they will be launching the album. Promotional tour will follow.
