“It gives me great pleasure to present this new election of popular music for the guitar. As in my first CD Etifeddiaeth/Heritage released in 2018, I hope there’s something to suit everyone’s taste. Special thanks to Meirion Dole for the inspiring and creative images for this CD and I’m indebted to Myfyr Isaac for his careful and thorough contribution with the mixing and mastering. Thanks also to Sandra (De Pol) for her work on the Spanish translation and to Gwenan Gibbard of Sain Records. Encil (pronounced én-kill) – a Welsh word which means refuge or sancutary – was inspired by the lock-down period of 2020/21 and I hope this new anthology will give pleasure and offer some comfort for the soul”.Rhisiart Arwel Rhisiart studied the guitar at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester and was awarded a scholarship by the Welsh Arts Council for further study with Ricardo Iznaola in Madrid and in London with John Duarte. Rhisiart is a skilful classical guitarist and has performed extensively in recitals throughout Wales and the UK and has appeared regularly on radio and television. Rhisiart’s repertoire includes music from all parts of the world, with special emphasis on music from Spain and South America. Rhisiart is a talented composer and arranger and further examples of his work appears on this latest CD. This is Rhisiart’s second CD for Sain Records – Etifeddiaeth/Heritage was released in 2018.
