Dim Ond Un Gair
Dim Ond Un Gair
The Lampeter tenor’s fifth album which includes brilliant new contemporary songs. Timothy Evans could have made a career for himself on the concert and opera stages of the world, but he chose instead to stay in his native land, make a career as a postmaster, and become a specialist sheep breeder. But that is not to say that his performances have not been enjoyed by audiences as far as Australia, and the reaction of audiences everywhere is one of enthusiastic appreciation. His class of effortless tenor voice is only rarely heard, and these recordings are testimony to his huge talent. But Timothy’s appeal is more than a natural tenor voice; it has to do with his radiant personality, and his homely way with an audience. “Dim ond un gair” is Timothy’s fifth album (he also has a “best of” CD) and encompasses with style the world of contemporary musicals and ballads including translations of popular songs such as Rhosyn fy Myd” (Rose of My Heart), “Fy eiddo wyt Ti” (Remember you’re Mine), “Dim ond un gair” (Words), “Duw ar y Mynydd” (God on the Mountain). Producer Annette Bryn Parri and engineer Bryn Jones have been very busy with this album as recording did not always go to plan!
