Caneuon Robat Arwyn - Ffydd Gobaith Cariad

Robat Arwyn is without doubt one of Wales’ most popular and certainly the most performed of our contemporary Welsh language composers. This new compilation of his songs exemplifies two reasons for his growing popularity: the first is that he appeals to a wide spectrum of performers, from soloists of the calibre of Bryn Terfel to choirs like Côr Seiriol, and from stage musicals to instrumentalists. The second is that he works with a wide variety of excellent lyricists, and the long-standing partnership between the composer and Robin Llwyd ab Owain is a feature of this album. Another feature of his work, as with all true artists, is sincerity; when this is combined with unforgettable melodies, you have the key to great music.
