Best of Plethyn
Best of Plethyn
Plethyn is the quintessential Welsh folk group, where the accent is very much on the singing, the harmony and the story-telling. And they always manage to tell the sad stories without too much sentimentality, and the light-hearted ones without being too frivolous.
Since their first ground-breaking release in 1979 – “Blas y Pridd” – Plethyn have breathed new life into our traditional songs, and introducd us to a host of new ones, and as this collection proves, they have become one of the main musical vehicles for the words of poet Myrddin ap Dafydd. They have chosen 21 of their own favourites for this album, 11 of which have been specially re-recorded under the expert direction of Tudur Morgan.
