In 2014 the Llanelli Male Choir celebrated its 50th anniversary. After the Choir was established in October 1964 under the baton of Denver Phillips, it has developed throughout the years, under the leadership of Eifion Thomas, to become one the most proficient, famous and popular choirs in Wales. Under Eifion’s musical directorship the choir has won acclaim in competitions, winning the main prize in the principle choral competitions at the National Eisteddfod of Wales on five occasions, and they have been excellent ambassadors for Llanelli and Wales in countries on many continents, including the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and neighbouring European countries such as Germany, France, Austria and The Netherlands.
