This release records the work of Mim Twm Llai, recorded on the Crai label between 2002 and 2006. It showcases 19 stunning folk, reggae and rock tracks by Mim Twm Llai (a.k.a. Gai Toms), considered one of Wales’ most talented and loveable artists who has received enormous respect from audiences throughout Wales and beyond.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e After three years as a member of the successful band Anweledig, Gai was eager to compose acoustic styled songs. Drawing influence from his idol, the amazing Meic Stevens, Gai began composing songs about characters from his hometown under the name, Mim Twm Llai. Gai Toms said,\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e “The name came from the imagination of my neighbour Kevin Evans or Prinsi as everyone calls him. My father’s name was Meurig Thomas, and his nickname was Mim Twm. Everyone called my sister Elaine Mim Twm Bach (small Mim Twm), therefore... as I was younger, I received the title Mim Twm Llai (smaller Mim Twm)!”\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e Over the next few years Mim Twm Llai composed anthemic classics like Sunshine Dan, Tafarn Yn Nolrhedyn and Wbancrw. The songs showcase Gai’s unique talent of narrating colourful stories about characters and events over dreamy and memorable tones. The three albums reflect different periods in Gai’s life and following the release of Yr Eira Mawr Mim Twm Llai’s end, as a project, was on the horizon.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e “I lost my father and felt that continuing to use his name was unnatural. At the same time I felt that two Mim Twm Llai albums were not enough and I needed to create another one to make it three – apparently a lucky number! In 2006 I decided to write another album and with all three albums I was saying a personal goodbye to my father. It was therefore an ideal opportunity to move on and use my own nickname – Gai Toms (Gareth Thomas).” \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e The comedian and author, Dewi Prysor, said\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cspan\u003e “Like Christy Moore in Ireland, Gai Toms is much more that a talented musician and special singer songwriter.
