“…one of the most delightful voices ever recorded by us” was the words of Dafydd Iwan from SAIN Records in his blurb to Leah Owen on her collection of favorites.
Leah, who originates from Anglesey, but nowadays lives at Denbigh, has recorded seven albums with SAIN at a time when Hefin Elis, Gareth Mitford, and Gareth Hughes Jones were prolific producers with the company.
25 years since her first album, SAIN has released a compilation of her best tracks on one CD, encompassing the rich diversity of Leah’s singing – from Cerdd Dant to folk songs and from African singing to original ballads.
An interesting combination of talents can be sensed in some of the songs, as it is Leah herself who has composed the tunes while her husband Eifion Lloyd Jones composes the lyrics.
